With the causes for autism still unknown and the rapid increase of incidence from 1 in 10,000 in the 1980’s to a current estimate of 1in 68, providing lifetime care for those with special needs such as autism is a major problem that is growing daily.

Adults with autism are among the most under employed (estimated at more than 85% unemployed), socially isolated and expensive to care for populations in today’s struggling economy. The Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA) reports that, in 2014, lifetime costs to care for a person with Autism averages $1.4 to $2.4 million.  Based on these numbers, yearly costs to the United States are an estimated $236 billion and growing.
The OASIS model lies in its primary aim to first prove a real life, holistic solution, while developing a model that can be franchised at no cost to other parent groups. This growth path is not monolithic, has no inherent size limitations to scale and solves the problem at the national level. Phase 1 will prove the viability of the solution through an organic self sustainable farm that is for and by people with special needs. Phase 2 will focus on franchising the solution nationwide.
